"Ginger Lily" or "Garland Flower" - This genus of fleshy rhizomatous perennials adds a touch of tropical spice to the garden or patio.  Native to India and Malaysia, they adapt will to hot summers and produce heavily fragrant, spectacular flower clusters over a six week period.  Plant them where you can enjoy their fragrance and the visits of hummingbirds and butterflies they attract.  They like rich organic soil and plenty of moisture.  Where hardy the plants can grow very tall.
